We are a nation built on the principle of freedom, and anytime someone suggests that: "legislators or the people amend our campaign finance laws that would ban such practice of candidates who self-fund their campaigns" or "There ought to be a law..." I cringe, because it means that someone is trying to take someone's freedom away. Campaign finance restrictions are a direct hit to our freedom of speech. The McCain Feingold bill is the worst legislation and biggest violation of the first amendment I can think of.
