Orange County GOP 1st in Nation to Incorporate Live TweetUp

The Republican Party of Orange County, aka “America’s Most Republican County” according to their website, will be the first in the nation to incorporate a Live TweetUp and Webcast during their inaugural 2010 Central Committee meeting tonight under the hashtag #RCCOC, Chairman Scott Baugh has told me.  Many Conservative Activists have taken to Twitter like fish to water, but establishment Republicans and Democrats alike have generally been slow to adjust.  Chairman Baugh said he wants to, “take the party in a new direction going forward – including technologies such as Twitter, but also in holding elected officials to a new standard of limited government and accountability.”

Chairman Baugh is also rumored to be giving quite “The Speech” according to County sources.  According to several sources, the Chairman will be “putting down the gauntlet” on all Republican officeholders to govern by a certain standard and be held accountable.  Many Orange County Republicans also strongly favor such Ballot Initiatives as The Citizen Power Campaign – Unplug the Political Machine, which has also taken to the Twitter train @CitizenPower and is also the first ever ballot initiative to gather signatures through a unique new iPhone application.  Rumor has it the OCGOP will be moving to officially endorse the initiative tonight.

It looks like this is one ‘establishment’ that has it right and is taking Republicans in the right direction – hand in hand with the Tea Party movement, and I will be very intrigued to see how the meeting tonight goes.  Apparently, the County Party’s tech committee headed by Congressman Rohrabacher’s wife Rhonda, and eMotiv Marketing, Inc are working together on this project, and I have heard many more GOP County Party’s will soon be following suit with the assistance of @eMotivMarketing.
