Russ Bogh, candidate for the vacant 37th Senate district issued the following statement in regards to Governor Schwarzenegger’s State of the State address. The 37th Senate seat was vacated by ex-rival turned Supervisor John Benoit. Bogh’s statement clearly attempts to define himself as the conservative choice against Assemblyman Bill Emmerson, the Benoit endorsed candidate who recently moved to the district:
The Governor’s state-of-the-state today was a repeat of what we’ve been hearing out of Sacramento for the last few years. Instead of more blah, blah, blah, it’s time for fundamental change and real action. California’s economic crisis is too deep and too serious for more Hollywood stunts. We need genuine tax and budget reform— and we need to restore trust in state government by holding our elected leaders accountable for what they promise.
To start, we need to put an immediate stop to more reckless borrowing that’s killing our economy — like the proposed $11 billion water bond that’s full of pork. Mortgaging our children’s economic future with a bond proposal that doesn’t solve the problem, isn’t the answer. We should be paying down our debt, not dumping it on our children.
We also need to put the brakes to excessive job-killing regulations — like AB 32, the Governor’s green house gas bill that will put another bullet in California’s economy.
And we’ve got to lighten the tax load for families and businesses, not add to it — to free more money for savings, investment, jobs creation and economic development.
Clearly, we need to dramatically change the way government conducts the people’s business. We need to kick government in the pants. That’s what I’ll do in the State Senate, where I’ll put my business experience and conservative values to work to get this state back on track.
The transformation of liberal Russ Bogh has begun! today, candidate Bogh blasts Republican Governor Schwarzenegger on the governor’s annual state of the state address:
Here is politician Russ Bogh in 2004 gushing over his idol Arnold Schwarzenegger after the governor delivered his maided state address:
“Tonight the governor demonstrated something California hasn’t seen in a few years – leadership,” said Assemblyman Russ Bogh, R-Cherry Valley, caucus chair. “It seems that this governor is standing for the people and not for Sacramento special interests.”
Russ Bogh has no principles, other than to get elected.
But wait, there’s more Russ Bogh! How about this gem from then-Assemblyman Russ Bogh after the 2006 Schwarzenegger State of the State Address:
From an official Assembly Republican Caucus press release:
“I’m happy to see the governor’s budget focus on improving California’s ailing infrastructure without overburdening the hardworking families of California with tax increases.”
Russ Bogh was a happy warrior in Arnold’s Army when he was in Sacramento.
He is trying to re-invent himself.
Bill Emmerson must really be scared if he’s deploying such angry and vitriolic attacks on Russ Bogh so early.
According to the California Republican Assembly, the most conservative group of activists in the California GOP, Bill Emmerson is one of the most liberal Republicans serving in the California State Legislature.
Speaking of the CRA, in the 1990s, their number one opponent in the Republican Party was Governor Pete Wilson. Wilson raised taxes by a record amount in 1991.
Guess for whom “conservative” Russ Bogh worked as a taxpayer-paid senior aide?
Russ Bogh didn’t have a single crisis of conscience when he promoted Pete Wilson’s tax-raising agenda on Californians.
Those are “just the facts.”
I think Bogh has it wrong…a real business man would have checked his figures and realized that Emmerson (simply wiki search at worst) has LONG ties to the area. Does HEMET?? ring a bell? It is the one city Bogh doesnt care about. Not to fond of a man running on conservative values if it is true that he was so involved with that dirt bag Wilson! Also, I thought I read some where that that guy Emmerson had a 10% rating with the CA Chamber of Commerces who do fight for small businesses such as mine?
That would be 100% from the chamber…my computer keys are stuck. oops.
